Biography
A little bit about me

I was born in Plattsburgh, New York many years ago. However, I grew up in Germany. My parents were civilian contractors for the Department of Defense and they were stationed in Germany. I spent my childhood growing up there. We lived at two different bases and because my parents were civilians, we had to live off base. In one town, we were the only American family. I thoroughly enjoyed growing up there, and I miss it. I do miss all of my friends and especially the food. After the fall of the Berlin wall and the end of the Cold War, there was no need to have an abundant amount of U.S. personnel in Europe. The base we were stationed at was closed and my parents opted for early retirement. We moved back to upstate New York in 1991.

I attended Seton Catholic Central High School for my sophomore through senior years. After graduation, I attended SUNY Plattsburgh and majored in International Business with a minor in Accounting and German. After working in the business world for a couple of years, I decided that I wasn't happy. I wanted to do something that made me happy, so I decided to go back to school and pursue a teaching degree. I went back to SUNY Plattsburgh and received another degree in History with a minor in Geography. I then stayed at SUNY Plattsburgh to get my Master's in teaching. I wanted to teach secondary education with a focus in history.

For fun, I enjoy anything that has to do with the outdoors. I especially enjoy hiking and am currently trying to become a Adirondack 46er. A 46er is someone that has hiked the 46 highest peaks in the Adirondack park. So far I've only hiked half of them, but I'm slowly getting them done. I also enjoy fishing. I just started fly fishing and must say, I'm hooked (pun intended). I am also an avid golfer and I enjoy it thoroughly. I also like to snowshoe. I enjoy the silence on the woods in winter. I really don't care what I'm doing as long as I'm outdoors.

as Upper Wolfjaw and Lower Wolfjaw. This
was a long day, 16 miles.

This is a picture of me on top of Lyon Mountain during the winter. It was a beautiful day and not too cold.
