Introduction:

Liberty Bell, Stone Mountain, The Great Lakes, The Grand Canyon and The Rocky Mountains.

Do these landmarks seem familiar to you? They should since we just finished learning about the 5 regions of the United States. I have made this web quest for you to further understand the different regions we have learned about! Enjoy!

Tasks:

While we further our knowledge on the five regions there will be 5 groups:

Group A- will have the Northeast Region

Group B-will have the Southeast Region

Group C-will have the Midwest Region

Group D- will have the Southwest Region

Group E-will have the Western Region

Next: Each student will pick a land mark or tourist attraction for their area. You can have the same landmarks or tourist attractions or different. You will have time to research the area and pick something they are interested in or in the future would like to visit.

Open Up Microsoft Publisher

Click On Post Cards

Design the Front of the Post Card with Images and Text about your landmark or tourist attraction. Make it so when people see it they want to visit that place.

Pretend you are visiting that area. Write home using the historical facts you have learned about that place and share it with your family.

Synthesis:

Once you have found your information on the landmark you chose, you will go to Start, go up to Programs, Find Microsoft Office and Open up Microsoft Publisher.

Once Publisher is Open, click on Post Cards. You will then design your post card using the information you found, and your notes that you already have on the region.

Conclusion:

Once everyone's postcards are done, print out your post card. I am going to hang them up on the bulletin board outside the classroom so everyone can see your artwork!

Evaluation:

You will be evaluated on your creativity and the facts and details that were put into your post cards!
