For many generations in my family, teaching has been a popular choice. Throughout my adolescence I have heard stories about the joy of seeing children learn to read, I’ve helped cut out shapes, I have graded papers, and I have experienced how my family members interact with the students in a classroom and the daily accomplishment it provides them with. I have seen their passion and delight in changing a child’s life. It has been a big reason for why I want to teach. Seeing them has made me want to spend my life teaching and helping others.

I believe that I am on my way to be acquired for a teaching position. I went to Plattsburgh State University. In my free time I am a substitute teacher and am involved in a program called ‘Study Buddy.’  This summer I was a camp counselor at Camp Easter Seals of Virginia. Some characteristics that I would bring to the community are patience and optimism. I love to learn, and I want to share that passion with my students. I have the experience and understanding that kids learn on different levels and sometimes they need a different method of teaching. You just need to be creative. A weakness that I have is to become attached to the kids, and be heartbroken or disappointed in myself when they don’t succeed.
