I have had a very long and positive educational background.
My mother is a 7th grade English teacher and she has had a very
positive impact on my educational career. Teaching has also been
something that I known I have wanted to do from a very young age.
When I was little I would love to go to my mothers class and sit behind
her desk and pretend to be the teacher. Teaching has opened so many
doors for me throughout my life. I have met some wonderful people
and professors in my educational program at Suny Plattsburgh. I
have had the pleasure to observe over 60 hours of teaching, and
observation and Plattsburgh High School.
Throughout my college career I have been lucky to take many classes
that I have really enjoyed. Since I am a history major I had to
take some pretty difficult courses that included lots of papers and
reading. However, I love learning new history so the reading did
not bother me that much. Some of my favorite classes were a
history class on Judaism, another history class on East Asian
civilization. I took more classes that I did not know much
information on, and I wanted to gain more understanding of that time
period in history. I also have taken about 12 to 15 credits of
political science classes. I have also had an interest for
politics and how our government operates. I really enjoyed my sociology
and psychology lessons. I think it is really interesting
how people think and interact with one another. Classes
that I have not enjoyed are any of the math courses I had to
take. I am terrible at Math and hate doing anything that is
related to Math. However, I would have to say that I have been
very fortunate to take many wonderful classes at SUNY Plattsburgh.
