Teaching Philosophy

Please visit the link to view my formal Teaching Philosophy Statement. Teaching Philosophy

I believe most learning takes place in a challenging and engaging learning environment. There exists a need for the lesson to have purpose for each individual learner. The teacher’s purpose in the classroom is to provide students with a question that they will want to find the answer to and guide students as needed. Science surrounds us and each individual should be able to understand and appreciate the phenomena they see around them. Science is also an integral part of our culture and society. I also hope to develop socially responsible citizens by encouraging them to understand the difference that exist amongst all people and why the diversity of the human population is essential to our survival.
