I’m twenty years old and in my last year as an undergraduate in the Communication department at Plattsburgh State University. I intend on pursuing a career as a Set Designer in the Film, Television and Theatre industries, with an emphasis in film and television.

When I originally came to college I was intent on pursuing a career as a producer in film, but I soon realized that was not the career for me. I have possessed a strong passion for art and design from a very young age, but I never thought that would have any influence in my choices on terms of careers. After minoring in Business then double majoring in Business and TV-Video production I decided to give my passion for Art a chance. Now after a lot of research and contemplation I have decided to pursue an Associates in Interior Design and a Masters in Design for Stage and Film.

I am very involved here at Plattsburgh State University. Not only am I a board member of the SA club O.W.E. (the organization of women of ethnicity), I am a general member of African Unity, Akeba and a member of Adirondack’s Hall council. In the 2007-2008 academic year I held a position as a resident assistant in Wilson Hall, which I chose to decline for my senior year to focus wholly on my studies. I am currently a course assistant for Dr. Elizabeth Bernat for the freshmen GE course called Individual, Academic and Social Expression. I am also a member of Phi Eta Sigma, Lambda Pi Eta and Alpha Phi sorority.
