Haruka Suzuki, a senior at SUNY Plattsburgh, is an international student from Sapporo, Japan.

Being influenced by her parents, who love travelling, Haruka always wanted to see the world outside of her country. Her dream to come to New York to experience its diversity finally came true in 2008.

Haruka is graduating from the college in May, 2012, with a major in Public Relations, with a concentration in Advertisement, and a double minor in Broadcast Management and Marketing. She has a strong desire to work in a public relations field after graduation. Because she has taken basic level audio, video, camera, and multimedia design classes, she has the potential to be flexible for any tasks in a PR field. Haruka has done an internship at Notions United, a Japanese PR firm in Manhattan, NY. She was assigned to multiple PR tasks, but worked mostly as a writer for the firm’s web magazine.

Haruka is an active person. She is active in sports, especially snowboarding and volleyball. She was the captain of her high school volleyball team, which helped her develop skills as a leader and provided her with the opportunity to help others work together. Her experiences while living in a foreign country have made her a positive thinker, while also helping her to become mentally tough.
