Blog #1: Adaptive and Assistive technology

Adaptive and Assistive technology  is such a great tool. This allows everyone to succeed no matter what type of disability they have. An example would be a student that is blind can get their book in brail that way the student can succeed in school. The SUNY Plattsburgh campus has a great student support system, they have a lot to offer students with disabilities and students with out disabilities that just need a little extra help. Some things that they offer are books on tape, books written in brail, tutors, and note takers. To find out more about these sources you can go to the Learning Center located in the Angel College Center.

Blog #2: Mass Media Law

I did not know how strict the copy right laws for the internet were until I read this article. After reading this I realized that I need to be careful on how I incorporate the internet into whatever I am working on. I must take the time and give credit to the company or person where I am getting the information from. I need to do this by citing the source. Since their are now computers in classrooms and students use the internet to find sources I need to make my students aware of the mass media law, this will help them in the future and teach them what to do to avoid plagiarism.

Blog #3: Broadcasting, Cable, the Internet, and Beyond

While I was reading this article I realized how great it was to have the internet while growing up. Sometimes I don't know how people lived without the internet we depend on it so much in our everyday lived. I use it for research, email, instant messenger, shopping and many more things. The internet is a great thing but it also has some cons, for example when you are downloading things you need to make sure you are not stealing things like music, you also need to make sure that the information you are looking up is from a credited source. When children use the internet you need to make sure they are being monitored there is so much out there on the world wide web for them to see. Now a days there are filters so you can filter sites so they do not go on there.

Blog # 4 : Pod Casting

I find pod casting to be a great tool to use while teaching. It allows students to be able to see and listen to teaching material right off the computer. I believe it will work great for when a student is absent or when a student needs to review the materials. This is an easy way to access the lesson; as long as you have a computer then you will be able to listen and watch whatever you missed. Times are changing and teachers need to incorporate technology in the classroom, and this is a perfect way to do just that.
