Atoms, Atoms, Atoms:
Building a 3-D Atom Model
Due: Wed. April 4th
For this project, you will build a 3-D model of an atom. Here are the criteria that you must follow:
· You may choose any element between 4 and 18.
· You DO NOT have to buy supplies for this!! Any materials that you have around the house will work. Be creative!
· The atom must be accurate. This means:
o It must have a nucleus with the correct number of protons and neutrons.
o It must have shells/rings with the correct number of electrons in each (i.e., 2,8,8).
o The protons, neutrons and electrons need to be different from each other in some way.
· We will be grading your model on its accuracy and how well you followed the above criteria.
· This is due WEDNESDAY, APRIL 4!!
