I am currently a student in the BA/MST Adolescent Education program at Plattsburgh State University of New York. My content area of study is Earth Science. I chose Earth Science as my field of concentration for a couple of reasons. The first reason is that I love nature and being in it and how dynamic it really is. The second reason is that I want to help my students to better understand how our planet works, how intricate its processes really are, how we interact with our planet in both good and bad ways, and last but not least how fragile Earth really is despite its size. I feel it is important for our children to understand Earth’s processes and our place within it.

I am the first in our family to ever attend college thanks to my grandmother who instilled in me how important an education is. It was through her wisdom that I learned many valuable life lessons and how I first discovered that I wanted to inspire young people the way she inspired me. This led me to enter college as an aspiring teacher.

I am also a wife and a mother of two boys. Like my grandmother I hope to pass on to my boys the value of hard work, empathy for others, family always come first, and how important it is to have a good solid educational background. My favorite past times are family time, camping, hiking, fishing, hunting, baking, reading and enjoying quiet time by a nice hot fire while looking up at the stars!
