Intended to accompany a Library of
Congress exhibit on Christopher
Columbus, this site includes
information on the population of the
American continent prior to 1492,
the Mediterranean region of the 15th
century, Christopher Columbus, and
the relationship between Europeans
emigrating to the American continent
between 1492 and 1600 and the Native
Americans; and a list of suggested
