Hello
and thank you for your interest in the biography section of my website. This
gives me the opportunity to truly tell you
who I really am. As you
may have taken from the poem, I am Hispanic and I live in New York City,
Brooklyn to be exact. My
mother was born in Brooklyn, New York, to
parents of Puerto Rican heritage. My dad was born and raised until the age
of 12
in the Dominican Republic. I have two siblings, Ashley who is
17 years of age and Robinson Jr. who is 9 years of age. Along
with them I have two amazing dogs Lola and Fluffy. My family means the
world to me. We laugh together, fight with one
another, cry together
and support each other in every way imaginable. We spend a lot of family
time together, especially
when we are off on vacation. My family
takes part in the Jehovah’s Witness Religion. God is at the very center of
our lives
and for that reason we are appreciative for the gift of
life.
Well let’s talk a little about my life up until
now. As a child and even still today, I am a very active person. I attended
Ballerina school from the age of 3 to 12 years old. I continued to take
dance classes at my junior high school and became
interested in playing soccer. Eventually, I focused on playing soccer
and pushed dance to the side. I played the defense
position for my
school and outside leagues. My athletic abilities earned me a seat at a
great high school called Midwood
High school at Brooklyn College.
The coached loved how I played and so I played on the team for the 4 years I
was at
Midwood. I became captain of the soccer team my senior year.
My high school years were wonderful and fun. I became a
journalist
for school’s newspaper and a part of the yearbook committee.
A lot of my peers weren’t doing much for themselves academically, but I
decided that I really wanted to go places and
needed to focus on my
education. So that I would not become distracted from my education and the
goals I wanted to strive
for in life, I decided to attend SUNY
Plattsburgh. During my three years at Plattsburgh I have accomplished a lot
and lend
my self to be actively involved in campus community. I am
the president of a Latin American Student Union called El Pueblo.
For one year, I was a member of the Black and Latino student union called
Fuerza. I am also a facilitator for Odyssey, which
gives incoming
freshmen an education and orientation on their new environment. I committed
to doing a variety of different
forms of community services, such as
being a mentor, tutor and participate in many walks for different causes. I
am also a
note-taker for the Student Support Services, which allows
me to take notes for students with learning disabilities. I love
working with people and helping others to be successful and to live happier
lives.
I try to be all I can be and I work rigorously
to reach my goals.
