For Students:
http://www.brainpopjr.com/ and www.BrainPOP.com - These are wonderful resources for kids! They provide educational movies and homework help for K-3 students. There are animated movies, with quizzes, games, vocabulary, and activities. They are also great for teachers because they offer lesson plans and ideas.
http://kids.nationalgeographic.com/ - This is another great site for students. There is a lot they can explore here. They can learn about animals, people and places, watch videos, play games, and read about fun activities to do. Teachers can also find ideas for lesson plans here.
http://www.kidsites.com/sites-edu/history.htm - This is a good educational site for students. There is a wide range of history topics where they can find good, helpful information.
http://www.bestedsites.com/socialstudieslinks.html - This is a great site! Here, students can learn a lot about social studies; there are many different topics such as Early America, the Middle Ages, the Civil War, geography, government ETC!
http://www.kidspast.com/world-history/index.php - At this site there are many topics for students to explore such as the Ancient Greeks and Romans, the American Revolution, Medieval Europe, Islam, and many more! There are also fun history games to play and famous quotes to read.

http://www.csun.edu/~hcedu013/plans.html - This is a good resource for teachers who are looking for social studies lesson plans and ideas. There are hundreds of lesson plans to choose from and lots of great ideas.
http://www.theteacherscorner.net/ - This is another great resource for teachers. There are a lot of lesson plans, unit plans, printable worksheets, and links to other websites.
http://www.lessonplanet.com/directory/Social_Studies - This site provides a great search engine for lots of different lesson plans and ideas.
http://teachers.net/ - Here you can find more social studies lesson plans, project ideas, and teaching tools.
Here is a great site for teachers that requires a subscription
http://www.teachervision.fen.com/ - If you are willing to pay for it, this is a great site with a lot of great social studies lesson plans containing a variety of subjects and grade levels. There is a ten day free trial... so you can try it for free, and cancel if you don't like it!
