Blog #1- Podcasting
Prior to reading this article, I did not understand the concept of podcasts.  But after reading the article I realized that it is a new piece of technology that has been growing and can be very helpful in the classroom.  I feel that podcasts are a great way to keep parents and/or guardians involved in what their child is learning.  Also the students will have access to the materials if they missed the lesson or the day.
Our world today is becoming very dependent on technology and it is not uncommon to see it within the classroom.  For the most part, podcasting is free and the students would benefit from using it.  When I become a teacher I plan on incorporating it into my classroom.

Blog #2- Mass Media Law
Plagiarism is something that I have been informed about for several years.  My teachers have always told me the importance of citing quotes, but this article provided great detail about copywriting.  I feel that it is extremely important for people to be aware of the consequences of copywriting and the rules/guidelines that need to be followed.  From reading the article, I was introduced to the different laws of copywriting and what they protect.  For instance, not only books, but paintings, music and writings are also protected under the law.
The laws are something that I will take into account when I become a teacher.  I feel that all students should know the laws of copywriting and attend on making my students well aware.  Personally, I feel that plagiarism/copywriting should be against the law because it takes away from your own creativity.  Therefore, my future students will understand how important it is to write on their own.

Blog #3- Broadcasting, cable and Internet
Our world today is becoming very dependent on technology.  The internet is a tool that majority of people use daily.  With the internet, you have access to anything and are able to communicate with people around the world.  With this being said, I feel that people need to be aware of the different uses, the safety and both the positives and negatives of the internet.
Today most people use the internet for different reasons, such as checking the weather, writing e-mails, communicating with friends, banking, shopping, or just trying to answer a question they might have.  Because everyone has access to the internet, they have access to all different types of information.  This is where safety will come into play.  As a future teacher I feel that technology will play a role in my classroom.  I want to make sure that the internet is safe for my students because it can be a great and beneficial tool for them to use.  They would be able to use it for research, and a way to communicate with different schools around the world.
There are many positives and negatives for the internet.  I personally have come by great ideas and activities to include in lesson plans.  I also use the internet to keep in contact with family I do not see very often.  In my opinion a negative impact the internet has is the use of books.  Everything is only a click away.  The internet is a wonderful tool that grows daily and will be helpful to future teachers.

Blog #4- Adaptive and Assistive Technology
Adaptive and assistive technology is extremely important and beneficial with assisting a person with a disability.  In starting to take some special education classes, I have learned the importance and a few different types.  A few examples include books on tape, a brail printer and small things like a pencil grip.  It is a wonderful feeling that there are a variety of different tools for people and that the list is still growing today.
Section 508 is something that I was very briefly introduced to in one of my classes.  After viewing the website, I had a better understanding of what it is.  “Under Section 508 (29 U.S.C. ‘794d), agencies must give disabled employees and members of the public access to information that is comparable to the access available to others.”
As a future special education teacher I hope to make different types of adaptive and assistive technologies available to all my students.  I look forward to exploring the different types and seeing the new ones that are developed.
