I believe that education is a lifelong pursuit and the role of a teacher is to inspire students to become life-long learners and informed citizens. Pedagogical practices should always reflect the needs and interests of students. Furthermore, I believe assessment should be a process by which the teacher not only tests growth, but provides students the opportunity to experience relevant, real-life projects which culminate into a portfolio for professional development.

The purpose of school is to foster intellectual, social, and community development as well as provide a place for students to learn and apply skills that are relevant to a digital age. Students need not only print literacy, but technological literacy as well. Therefore, teaching students discernment and digital citizenship is a necessity if the future generation is to be successful.

Education is for everyone, no matter one's identity, ethnicity, background, etc. It is a teacher's responsibility, to the best of their ability, to provide all students with an equitable education that adequately prepares them for a life of opportunities and success.
